Permaculture is Sustainable Design

Permaculture means “permanent culture.” It is a design science based on observation of natural systems, ecosystems - the most efficient and productive systems on the planet. Permaculture design increases the production and abundance in a system without using up non-renewable resources or creating toxins or pollution. It originally focused on agricultural techniques, but is now applied to everything from business to community planning to economics to education. It is a sustainable science in every sense of the word – for instance, natural systems produce virtually no waste and create giant trees from seed.

Frank Lloyd Wright said “It is easier to make changes with a pencil than a wrecking bar.” Correct design of a program toward sustainability can save significant costs, time and energy, and utilize resources to the fullest extent possible. We incorporate permaculture principles into every facet of our training programs and other services. We offer permaculture training, curriculum and design.
